Return to Knoydart

Last week we returned to one of our favourite haunts, the so called Rough Bounds of Knoydart. We arrived in Mallaig in good time to catch the 12.30 boat to Inverie via Jon Sellars Meri 3 boat. Having only been to Knoydart before using the Bruce Watt ferry we were somewhat surprised that it only took 15 minutes instead of the usual 45 minutes!

We met Hannah and Tim at the pier and they kindly transported our gear to our self catering cottage which was very well situated just up the road from the Old Forge pub. As Hannah hadn’t quite finished sorting out the cottage following the departure of the previous guests we decided to go for a quick pint and check about booking a table for dinner. We were a little perturbed to be told that they were fully booked! However they assured us that they would be quite happy to do a take away! Just for good measure we booked a table for the next couple of nights!

Will post a full report including the round of Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe that included one Munro (really!) soon. In the meantime here’s some photos…
